When I connect with VLC for Mac, everything works fine. avi file, but all I saw was a single still frame from the video, it wouldn't play at all - even though the status tab in UMS seemed to indicate it was playing. That one time I got the file listing, I was able to try playing a standard-definition. Unfortunately there are other problems with Serviio that I haven't been able to solve yet. Except for ONE time it showed up, but I have no idea what I did differently, and have never been able to do it again! I also tried Serviio, and there's no problem getting the directory listings with that, so I know at least that VLC for iOS is not completely broken. I can select UMS in the UPnP section of VLC for iOS, and I can see my iPhone in the UMS status tab. I'm hoping someone else has done this, who can show me the way. I've been trying to use UMS with VLC for iOS, with no luck.
